I heard there's a rumor about the Johto starters may get branched evolutions/split evolutions for the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield games. If the rumors are true, most of the older Pokémon from the first seven generations and as well as the Johto starters will have split evolutions. Not to mention that we have not had any new evolutions or even new baby Pokémon since Gen 4, I hope this rumor is actually real.
